One of the engine main bearings failed at a little over 27k miles. There was a knocking noise on the lower part of the engine. The engine could have possibly failed leaving me stranded. Yes the dealer was able to replicate the noise and replace the main bearing. No it hasn’t been inspected since I’ve had it. There were no warning signs other than the knocking noise and loud idling.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V174000 (VISIBILITY); however, the failure occurred after the repair. The contact stated that the glass on the driver’s side rear-view mirror was shaking abnormally while driving. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 39,000.

First, the windshield. It cracks for any Little Rock that hits it. I’ve never had this issue with any other car in my life! I’ve had to fix 4 cracks and now it completely cracked and have to replace the entire windshield. Second the sliding door!s!!!!! It’s been an ongoing issue as well. It either closes half way and returns clicking sound and now today it doesn’t open or close I had to force it open to let my kids out! I means bought this car brand new and it’s been nothing but issues! These types of issues should not be occurring on a relatively new car.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while coming to a stop, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled without warning, requiring a manual restart. On multiple occasions, the engine failed to crank initially, requiring several attempts before successfully restarting. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic evaluation; however, the failure could not be replicated. The dealer replaced the battery, but the failure remained unresolved. The failure mileage was 105,000.

3rd row Magic seat malfunction. Metal is bending/ Flaring out of place allowing ball/wire to slip so car can not unlatch seat from floor and fold.

After a heavy rain, the rear tailgate stopped working- apparently the roof seals have cracked and water leaked into the rear part of the car, and destroyed the tailgate latch and control unit. When I was driving the car for service, the rear sensor kept beeping indicating that the tailgate was not latched properly- I was afraid it would open it, so I had to drive carefully to the dealer. Now, the dealer says it a known problem on the 22 odysseys that the seals crack and leak water into the car, but its not covered by any warranty, even though when I bought the car last year, it was a honda certified warranty. Now its a $2,630.00 job to repair this. The dealer said there was significant rust due to the leaking of the seals around the latch and controller unit. here isa link that says this problem actually goes back to 2018-2024 odysseys. [XXX] And I know it goes back as far as the 2008 model year- I had the 2008 odyssey and had the same roof seal water leak problem but the water was going into the seat belt areas. The entire Honda Sensing driver-assist safety suite has failures that shows on the dash all at the same time. All at once non of the safety features work which is extremely dangerous while driving. The component in question is the front sensor camera located behind the rear view mirror mounted on the front windshield. This sensor camera is the core optical component for the entire driver assist safety suite.

I was driving forward in the left lane, no cars in front of me. A garbage truck parked in the middle yellow lane to my left, a moving city bus on my right lane, but they were a bit further back, not driving next to me. There was a cae behind me. Was going at 25mph, then suddenly the automatic brake stopped my car. I didn’t understand why. It happened for a good 3 seconds. Then I was able to continue forward. So scary!!! No one close to my left or right or in front of me. The car behind me almost hit me because of the automatic brake.

The trunk on the van will close on its own. It does give a warning by beeping, but it’s happened at least half a dozen times. When the trunk comes down it happens quickly and has hit multiple people in the head. It’s very heavy too.

My van stalled twice and the 2nd one we need to have it towed to the dealership. The first time it stalled, we thought its only the battery and was able to run again. But the 2nd time it wont turn on even the batteries are good. The dealership diagnose it as the start/stop mechanism of the van due to the "eco" function (it stops the vehicle running when it is stop while driving) and they said that because of this they replaced the starter assembly. They even told my husband verbally that they had been getting repairs with the same issue. After they were repaired the technician verbally instructed my husband not to use the "eco function" because of the risk of stalling or breaking the starter assembly again. I learned that other Honda model such as Ridgeline and Pilot have a safety recall but why they did not include Odyssey? We have to pay out of pocket for the repairs that we did not expect coming from a good vehicle and also I bought this van brand new so I didnt expect that it will have this kind of problem at around 90K miles (my Toyota Highlander is still running at 150K!). I believe that all Honda vehicle that has start/stop "eco function" should have a safety recall, due to the fact that it can stall anytime and anywhere even when driving. Although my starter assembly had been replaced I am still anxious about this because it can lead to an accident. This is supposed to be a "family van" and Honda needs to prioritize SAFETY and RELIABILITY for a family van.
