Pickup trucks, light-duty haulers, and work trucks carry some of the highest resale values on the used market — which makes a thorough truck VIN check essential. Heavy use, commercial history, towing damage, and flood exposure all leave traces in the history report. Run the 17-character VIN before you pay a premium for a used F-150, Silverado, Ram, Tundra, or Titan.
Where is the VIN on a truck?
On most light-duty and full-size trucks, the VIN is stamped at the base of the driver-side windshield and printed on the door-jamb sticker. You will also find it on the vehicle title, registration, insurance card, and dealer service records. On many trucks, the VIN is additionally etched onto the frame rail near the driver-side firewall.
