What a commercial truck history report shows

Heavy-duty and medium-duty commercial trucks — Class 3 through Class 8 — put in long hours, and their history reports matter enormously at resale. A commercial truck history report can surface prior fleet use, accident records, and odometer readings, and the free check lists recall campaigns, on Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, International, Mack, Volvo, and Isuzu units alike.

Where is the VIN on a commercial truck?

On commercial trucks, the VIN is stamped on the driver-side dashboard visible through the windshield and on a door-jamb sticker, plus on the frame rail near the driver-side firewall. Class 7 and 8 rigs also carry the VIN on the title, cab card, and DOT paperwork.
