An authorized Nissan franchise executed an active safety recall campaign on my vehicle regarding coolant loss. Technicians failed to secure critical powertrain components during reassembly. Three days post-delivery, a major engine bolt fell out on the highway and the chassis began vibrating violently. A certified military base auto hobby shop inspection officially grounded the vehicle, finding a broken rear motor mount bracket, unfastened structural bolts, and a completely disconnected transmission/engine hose left by the franchise. This constitutes a severe post-recall safety failure that actively endangered my family on public roads.

The vehicle has experienced repeated sudden loss of engine power and inability to accelerate, accompanied by the dashboard warning “Power Reduced, Engine Malfunction, Service Now.” After seven incidents since 2022, a Nissan dealership performed diagnostics on while the warning remained displayed and informed me that an EGR-related component needed replacement. The exact component and diagnostic findings should be confirmed by the dealership. The vehicle is currently at or has been serviced by the Nissan dealership, and service records and diagnostic findings may be available upon request. 2.my Nissan Rogue SL has suddenly lost power seven times while I was driving, including on highways at approximately 55 mph. During these incidents, the vehicle became unable to accelerate, creating a serious risk of collision with surrounding traffic. The most recent incident occurred on XXX while I was transporting both of my children. My speed dropped to zero, and I had to pull over to avoid a collision. Fortunately, no accident has occurred, but these repeated failures have placed my children, myself, and other motorists at risk. 3.Yes.I kept the vehicle running for approximately four hours while waiting for a tow truck so the dashboard warning would remain displayed. When the vehicle arrived at the Nissan dealership, the warning was still present, allowing technicians to perform diagnostics. I was informed that the issue was related to the EGR system and that a component needed replacement. During previous visits, the dealership was unable to reproduce the warning after it disappeared from the dashboard, and the underlying problem remained unresolved. 4.Yes. My vehicle has been inspected by Sheehy Nissan in [XXX], on multiple occasions following the reported loss-of-power incidents. The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving 27 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the battery had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the air filters had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that due to the failure, the vehicle failed to accelerate, and the RPM was elevated. There was burning odor coming from the vehicle while driving. The vehicle was taken to a service center, where it was determined that the upper oxygen sensors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by email. The approximate failure mileage was 87,361.

On [XXX], my 2022 Nissan Rogue (1.5L VC-Turbo, about 66,000 miles) suddenly lost power while being driven near Lehighton, PA. The check engine light came on, the vehicle would not respond to the accelerator, the oil pressure warning came on, and the engine stalled. We had to get to the side of the road with no power, which put us and surrounding traffic at risk. The vehicle could not be driven and was towed 128 miles to a Nissan dealer. The Nissan dealer confirmed the failure. Their master technician found coolant getting past the valves into the engine cylinders. Nissan then stated that the EGR cooler failed, allowing coolant into the engine and causing it to overheat. The engine must be replaced. Nissan declined to cover the repair, stating the EGR cooler is not covered under its extended engine warranty. A third-party inspector for the vehicle’s service contract is expected to examine the vehicle. The dealer has been asked to retain the failed EGR cooler for inspection. This vehicle is included in recall 25V-437 (engine bearings). The recall remedy (Nissan campaign R25D1: ECM reprogram and engine check) was completed by a Nissan dealer on [XXX], at about 56,500 miles, and the engine was reported in good condition. The engine failed about 9,500 miles later. Prior warnings: Sluggish throttle reponse about 30 miles before total failure. The engine oil level was full, and the oil had been changed shortly before the trip. Other owners have reported similar EGR cooler failures on 2022 Rogues leading to coolant intrusion, overheating, and engine failure. I believe the EGR cooler on the 1.5L VC-Turbo engine can fail internally and cause a sudden loss of motive power, and it should be investigated. I was having performance issues and a slow loss of coolant so I took my car up to the dealership to run a diagnostics. It was confirmed to be due to the defect of the engine on my vehicle and all was replaced on Nissan. Now the dealership will not release my car to me after repairs have been completed because they are trying to tell me I am responsible for the diagnostics fee because for some reason they put it in under standard and not recall. And they refuse to change the ticket and resubmit and are unlawfully illegally withholding my vehicle from me until it is paid. I do not have the money to pay for something I am not responsible for and I growing extremely frustrated

My 2022 Nissan Rouge lost power and engine light came on said i engine needs servicing I Drove it to dealership they want to charge me 7300 to fix both cats and sensors. I asked about the recall on the KG bearing. The said the updated the program but my vehicle is now totally clogged and wont drive. There is a refusal to complete the NHTSA Recall No.: 25V437. As Stated in the recall: Description of remedy program: Dealers will inspect the engine oil pan for the presence of specific metal debris. This inspection will be performed free of charge for parts and labor and should take less than one (1.0) hour to complete. • For customers with the 3-cylinder 1.5L VC-Turbo engine, if no debris is detected during the inspection, dealers will replace the oil pan gasket, engine oil, and reprogram the vehicle’s Engine Control Module (ECM). This repair will be performed free of charge for parts and labor and should take less than half of one (0.5) hour to complete. The dealer refuses to drop the oil pan and wants payment for it and the oil! I have spent About $1000 so far on a rental because dealer claims they don't do that either. I need help getting this taking care of. Thank you

The EGR Cooler failed and caused a significant coolant leak into my engine. Causing sudden engine failure while driving. I experienced sudden power loss, loss of throttle control due to the motor being placed in the "safety mode" due to the engine coding, and was only able to drive on the shoulder of the road at ~25MPH, causing traffic disruptions until I was able to safely exit the roadway. I was able to get the vehicle diagnosed by Nissan, it resulted in over $10000 of repairs to fix the damage. The vehicle has less than 80000 miles and is still covered under extended warranty. However, Nissan rejected the repair claim due to it being the EGR cooler that failed.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the failure occurred after the recall repair. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving 80 MPH, the engine made a loud knocking sound with the messages, "Engine Stalling - Pull Over and Park Safely" and "Shift to park(P)" were displayed. The contact's daughter pulled over and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle failed to restart after several attempts, with a burning odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the residence and then to an independent mechanic, who retrieved DTC: P0014, P0017, P0506, P0524; and determined that there were metal shavings inside the oil filter and the engine. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, who determined that there was severe internal mechanical knocking from low crankshaft, heavy metallic contamination, internal bearing failure, and catastrophic engine wear. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 159,143.

The Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) system began malfunctioning immediately after service for Recall R25A8 in March. Initial symptoms included severe hesitation, shuddering, and erratic shifting, as well as an occasional CVT light that would turn on and off. I expressed these concerns to the dealership, but the issue was not acted on because they initially could not reproduce or confirm the symptoms during prior visits. Recently, the dealership replicated the issue and confirmed a complete transmission failure requiring a full replacement. The vehicle and failed component are available for inspection upon request. The vehicle is only 4 years old, and research shows this CVT failure is a widespread issue among Nissan vehicles. The sudden loss of acceleration and erratic shifting created a safety hazard during highway merging and navigating busy intersections, placing occupants and surrounding traffic at risk of a rear-end collision.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving 65-75 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle experienced reduced power and failed to exceed 30-35 MPH. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and notified the dealer of the failure by phone. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and DTC: P0012 and P0196 were retrieved, and the contact was advised that the engine was overheating. The contact was informed that the failures associated with the diagnostic trouble codes needed to be fixed prior to the recall repair. The contact declined to pay for the repair. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the cooling system was replaced. The vehicle was then taken to Cannon Nissan Eastern Shore (29788 Frederick Blvd, Daphne, AL 36526), where the contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed prior to the recall repair. The contact declined to pay for the diagnostic test because the vehicle had previously been diagnosed with the same trouble codes by the first dealer and O'Reilly Auto Parts. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone and informed the contact that the recall did not apply to the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 102,801.
