Fire Extinguisher May Be Clogged or Inoperable

Defect description

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Safety consequence

In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Manufacturer remedy

Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Defect description

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Keystone Outback travel trailers, models 220URB, 240URS, 250URS, 255UBH, and 293UBH. The affected vehicles were built with an incorrect drawbar installed to tow the travel trailer.

Safety consequence

Under certain conditions while traveling, the drawbar may bend, affecting vehicle handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will bolt on a reinforcement channel over the existing drawbar attachment of the frame, free of charge. The recall began on August 28, 2017. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 17-290.

Defect description

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Keystone Outback recreational trailers, model 326RL, manufactured February 24, 2016, to April 21, 2016. These vehicles have a television mounting bracket that may not be properly secured to the wall.

Safety consequence

The improperly secured bracket may allow the TV to fall, increasing the risk of injury to an occupant nearby.

Manufacturer remedy

Keystone has notified the affected owners. Dealers will re-install the TV bracket with larger screws, free of charge. The recall began on May 13, 2016. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 16-251.

TRAILER PURCHASED NEW IN APRIL OF 2017. DURING A THANKSGIVING TRIP I NOTICED WHAT SEEMS TO BE A TIRE DELAMINATING. WE REPLACED IT WITH THE SPARE. UPON INSPECTION WHEN WE RETURNED HOME I NOTICED THAT THE WEIGHT RATINGS OF THE TIRES DON'T SEEM TO MATCH WHAT THE FACTORY IS SPECIFYING THE TRAILER WEIGHS. THE TIRES ARE TRAILER KING ST225/75R15 WITH A MAX WEIGHT RATING OF 2,540LBS EACH. THE TRAILER HAS FOUR (4) WITH A DUAL AXLE SETUP. THESE ARE FACTORY ISSUED TIRES. THE GVWR OF THE TRAILER IS 10,500LBS WHICH CALCULATES AS 340LBS IN EXCESS OF THE TIRE CAPACITY. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING ALL THE TIRES ON THE TRAILER AS I CANNOT AFFORD A BLOW-OUT AND I THINK I'M ON THE PATH TO ONE WITH THESE TIRES. THERE WAS NO BLOW-OUT, SIMPLY AN IMMINENT TIRE FAILURE WHICH I BELIEVE IS A DIRECT RESULT OF INCORRECT/UNDERWEIGHT TIRE SELECTION BY KEYSTONE. *DT *TR *DT *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE TRAILER SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LEFT OUTSIDE. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE TRAILER WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THERE WAS NO MILEAGE.
