Driving home from the dealer after they updated the software due to a service bulletin regarding the backup camera locking up, the automatic braking system applied the brakes while driving 75 mph down the interstate. Fortunately there was no one in front of or behind at the time. Took it to the dealer and they checked for error codes and none were found.

My GRAND CHEROCKEE Limited Edition 2025, has an intermittent and recurring, sudden, TOTAL LOSS OF PROPULSION condition, since I bought it new in 2025, making this vehicle a safety hazard. While driving, the engine suddenly begins to roar. Immediately afterward, the vehicle experiences a sudden and total loss of propulsion and the speed drops dramatically, despite the engine revs up to 5,000-6,000 or more, the engine does not respond when I press the accelerator and the vehicle continues losing speed, creating a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, especially in heavy traffic and on the highway. This happened numerous times, driving at both city and highway speeds. The condition is sudden and unpredictable. After the engine is shut off and restarted, normal operation temporarily returns! I video recorded the dashboard and the motor noise to help the mechanics identify the problem, starting on May17th 2025. I provided the videos to a certified Jeep dealership's service advisor who reported that they "didn't find a trouble code", they "couldn't reproduce the condition", that "the vehicle works as designed" (!) and "nothing fall under warranty". I brought this vehicle 5 times to the same dealership, for the same problem and I got the same report, despite the evidence shown on the multiple videos, which was also witnessed by my passengers on 3 occasions. JEEP CUSTOMER CARE gave me a case number 98068228 and asked me to bring my vehicle to a different dealership, but they were also unable to resolve the problem. The videos I recorded when the problems occurred, show clearly the mechanical failure, but because the electronic of the car fails to show a code and because they can't reproduce it during a 4 miles drive, I was simply told to bring it back (again!) when it happens again (if I am not killed in the process). Meanwhile, I am left with a dangerous vehicle, qualified as "works as it is designed". It is a miracle I didn't get in a crash yet. Please help !

On 10/5/26 our jeep grand cherokee was parked in our drive way with the ignition started and the car in the park position. While my mom was in the car in the drivers seat, the car accelerated forward at a rapid speed and left the park position. The car slammed into my garage and caused severe damage to my garage and the car. The car is a total loss. I submitted this information to the police and to the manufacturer.

OnXXX at approximately 915 am I was making a LEFT hand turn across 3 lanes of 422, when the vehicle appeared to have a serious electrical failure and complete shut down as nothing on the vehicle was working and I was unable to immediately exit the vehicle. I was about 3 ft out into the intersection facing oncoming traffic going the opposite direction. The vehicle was towed to Preston Dodge/Jeep in New Castle PA. On Sept 16th I received a text message stating the problem had been fixed, the problem being "the positive terminal not being fully seated thus creating a powering down situation." I picked the vehicle up, and another significant electrical incident occurred at 3am on XXX while driving home from work. I lost all dashboard illumination except for my main center screen, and received flashing warnings about blind spot failure, as well as electrical seat failure, failure of hatch operation, failure of windows and door lock/unlock, cruise control unavailable, active lane management unavailable, AEB unavailable, ACC unavailable, rear wiper not operating, mileage flashing. The dealership was then contacted again, the Jeep remains in their possession, however I they have failed to be transparent and severe lack of communication. The vehicle had a yearly state inspection by the same dealership 2 weeks prior to the initial incident.

The occurrence happened 4 times. While driving when the accelerator is pushed, and not in an extreme way, the engine will rev to the maximum level, the transmission stopped working the car comes to a slow stop and the ignition must be switched off to stop the run away engine. Then restarted without incident. This has happened while making both left and right turns with and without cruise control on. Example: while driving on a 2 lane road with cruse control on the car in front slows to turn I apply the brakes, when applying minimal pressure to the accelerator pedal the engine revs to redline, the transmission stopes functioning and the vehicle coasts to a stop while in traffic with no forward movement possible. The engine revs without any input from the operator. Very dangerous have almost been rear ended 4 times by the traffic behind me. I feel this is a serious problem that may cause a serious life threatening accident. I will be requesting repair or replacement from the dealership under warranty and will report any findings to this organization. This needs to be addressed immediately as this is a serious life threatening issue.

While driving my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the panoramic sunroof glass suddenly and unexpectedly shattered/burst while the vehicle was in motion. There was absolutely no rock, road debris, object, collision, or other impact that struck the glass before it failed. The failure occurred without warning. My wife and our two children were inside the vehicle at the time, making this an extremely serious safety concern. The glass appeared to fail suddenly and the panoramic sunroof was left open/damaged. There was no known external cause for the glass failure. The vehicle and damaged sunroof components are available for inspection, and I have photographs documenting the condition immediately after the incident. I am certain there was no impact to the glass. This vehicle has also previously experienced a serious electrical malfunction in which I lost power steering and braking assistance while operating the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for this issue and required service. I am reporting this incident because an unexpected failure of the panoramic sunroof while driving presents a significant safety hazard, particularly with my wife and two children in the vehicle. I am concerned about the reliability and safety of this vehicle and believe the sudden glass failure should be investigated by the manufacturer and NHTSA.

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle suddenly shut off. The contact was able to immediately restart the vehicle and continued driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and DTC: P032S was retrieved (insufficient torque produced by the engine). The dealer was unable to repair the vehicle because the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 19,600.

I am reporting recurring safety-related shifting and vehicle gear/park-state concerns involving my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit Reserve. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has failed to transition properly from Reverse into Drive. I reported this Reverse-to-Drive issue to the manufacturer before later becoming aware of diagnostic information that I believed could potentially relate to the behavior. I am not a mechanic and do not know the underlying cause. On July 5, 2026, while my infant was in the vehicle, I placed the vehicle in Park and it displayed a “Park Not Engaged” warning despite being in Park. Warning sounds occurred and the vehicle automatically engaged the parking brake. This caused me serious concern about whether the vehicle was reliably recognizing its selected gear/park state. I immediately reported the incident to the manufacturer and was instructed to bring the vehicle to an authorized dealership. I complied. The vehicle was at the dealership from July 8 through July 27, 2026. During that repair visit, the dealer documented that FCA/WiTECH diagnostic systems were unavailable and that the vehicle could not be properly scanned. The vehicle was ultimately returned to me without the reported concerns being resolved. The vehicle has accumulated approximately 22 days out of service during its repair history. The manufacturer and authorized dealership have been made aware of my concerns and the vehicle has been available for inspection and diagnosis. I remain concerned about the recurring Reverse-to-Drive behavior and the July 5 Park Not Engaged event because unexpected or unreliable gear/park-state behavior could create a risk of unintended vehicle movement or an inability to reliably control the vehicle as expected. The underlying failed component or cause is UNKNOWN. I am submitting this complaint so these incidents are documented and can be evaluated by NHTSA for a potential safety-related defect.

The car started having engine issues. Car wouldn’t start. Had it towed to the dealership which replaced the engine after the dealership had it for a month. Then one week after the the engine was replaced the vehicle was having issues again. Replaced PCM

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the engine surged and RPM revved above 7,000 RPM, and the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond, and the transmission failed to respond. The contact stated that there were several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle returned to normal operation. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 24,000.
