EV main battery has a recall out since March 30, 2026 and its been over 7 months and the car dealer will not even take my car in for repairs. They are claiming no fix so they won't look at it. The battery capacity is severely down and I now get only about 60 miles per charge. It will only charge to 72% and it now uses 1% of capacity per mile. The battery need to be replaced but they are claiming that it is out of warranty even though I am under the 8year/100,000mi limit. Since the recall is on the car they will not fix or replace the battery. I was turned away from the dealer when I took the car in to get serviced, they said no work is allowed on battery system.

Vehicle: 2020 Jaguar I-PACE, purchased new in Washington State Problem: Unresolved high-voltage battery safety recall and prolonged delay in permanent remedy. As of October 2026, they have not given an adequate remedy for a fire hazard defect known for over a year +. I am filing this complaint regarding the extended delay in providing a permanent remedy for the high-voltage battery safety recall affecting my 2020 Jaguar I-PACE. Jaguar has installed an interim software update restricting the vehicle’s charging to 90% and has recommended that the vehicle be charged outdoors because of the battery fire risk. Although these interim precautions have been implemented, I remain concerned about the unresolved battery safety defect and the length of time Jaguar has taken to provide a permanent repair or other definitive remedy. The charging restriction reduces the vehicle’s usable battery capacity, and the recommendation to charge outdoors creates additional inconvenience and concern about safely owning and charging this vehicle. I ask NHTSA to review the length of time this recall has remained without a permanent remedy, the adequacy of the interim measures, and whether Jaguar is providing an effective and timely resolution to affected owners. Please record this complaint as a concern regarding the ongoing safety risk and the delay in providing a permanent recall remedy.

My 2020 Jaguar I-PACE, VIN [XXX], is subject to Safety Recall 26V-067 (JLR H570/H572) for high-voltage battery thermal overload. The interim remedy, a software limit to 90% charge, was installed [XXX] at the nearest dealer, Des Moines, IA, more than 130 miles from my home; the dealer kept the car until April 21 for what the recall letter called a 30-minute update. As of October 7, 2026, NHTSA's VIN lookup shows the recall open on this vehicle with "remedy not yet available," eight months after the February 5, 2026 filing. The vehicle has its original battery pack and every prior recall completed. The park-outside instruction is not practical where I live, and the 90% limit leaves about 160 miles of range, so the car cannot reach the dealer without a charging stop. I asked Jaguar Land Rover North America for a repurchase on April 20 and July 10, 2026. On April 23 they refused a review as "outside of the manufacturer warranty period." That was wrong: I bought the car from Jaguar Des Moines on [XXX] as a Jaguar Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, and Jaguar's own CPO delivery checklist lists the CPO warranty expiration as [XXX]. The 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty runs to [XXX]. The July request got no reply. JLR's Part 573 report for 26V-067 states that for the 2019 model year with the same defect, JLR decided on [XXX] to reacquire the vehicles because "battery pack supply is heavily constrained." The 2020 vehicles carry the same at-risk cells, and no remedy has been offered. I am reporting this vehicle as one for which the manufacturer has not provided a remedy in a timely manner. My 2020 Jaguar I-PACE is subject to NHTSA Safety Recall 26V-067, Jaguar campaign H572, concerning the risk of high-voltage battery thermal overload, smoke, and fire. The recall was reported on February 5, 2026. As of September 23, 2026, NHTSA continues to list my vehicle as “Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available,” and Jaguar states that the permanent remedy remains under development. I have complied with the interim safety precautions, including the dealer implemented restriction on maximum battery charge. These restrictions reduce the usable range and normal utility of the vehicle, yet after more than seven months there is still no permanent repair available or definite date for one. I am concerned that I am continuing to operate and own a vehicle for which the manufacturer acknowledges a potential battery thermal-overload/fire risk while no permanent remedy is available. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether Jaguar Land Rover is providing a timely and effective remedy for Recall 26V-067 and the length of time owners are being required to operate their vehicles under interim safety restrictions.

It seems that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) told the US Department of Transportation (USDOT), as late as February 5, 2026 that, regarding manufacturer recall number H570/1/2, a "vehicle thermal overload condition such as fire or smoke can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle..." exists in the iPace, which caused JLR to tell the USDOT that "in the interest of timely resolution for...customers, … that the permanent remedy for the defect in these vehicles would be to reacquire the vehicles,”....a plan of which JLR told the USDOT it would notify owners of on April 3, 2026. As of today, I have yet to receive JLR’s independent notification that my iPace was not safe to charge indoors (which I have done for the duration of my ownership of the vehicle, until I learned of the recall on or about August 20, 2026 through my independent internet search for iPace recall.) I have yet to have been offered a reacquisition of my vehicle, yet I can, now only charge up to 176 miles or 80% and I can no longer park overnight in my garage while charging. It appears JLR was aware of this defect as early as the year 2020, but concealed this in the internet advertisement for the vehicle and the sales paperwork that I was provided to purchase the vehicle on April 28, 2021, facts which, if communicated, would have resulted in my not having purchased an iPace. I stumbled upon this information after the “traction battery fault” indicator illuminating in mid-August 2026, when my Jaguar service advisor told me there “was a recall on the car that they cannot fix.” JLRs handling of the recall with respect to reacquiring affected vehicles is not as it discussed with the USDOT. JLR has not reacquired all H570/1/2, cars. As a retired DOT OIG agent, I question whether JLR made material omissions or misreps' about the iPace’s battery defects or about Jaguar’s intent to reacquire the 2,278 iPaces, to the USDOT to preclude crim' or reg' investigation.

Main batter has a recall for fire hazed which Jaguar is not fixing. Car gave a battery warning while driving but luckily, I was able to get home before it completely failed. Dealer will not fix the main battery which is the cause of the issue but want me to pay $4000 for a air conditioning issue they say caused electrical failure yet the battery is known to be faulty.

Battery charger failed following H570 safety recall while solution is being worked on for recall H572. Car has been at dealership for more than 50 days now with dealership not able to repair the defective part mainly due to the manufacturer being unable to provide a working part; first two replacement parts have been delivered damaged and third part is nowhere to be found although it was promised to be delovered on 9/10/26

we are still waiting for a fix for the battery problem in this car. How long do we have to wait. This problem has already caused a safety concern, as well lost of function (less battery charge),accelerated depreciated value of ownership. How long do we have to wait?

The contact owns a 2020 Jaguar I-Pace. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V067000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the message "Traction Battery Fault-Drive with Caution" was displayed at start-up. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with battery pack failure, and two battery cells were replaced; however, the vehicle was only partially repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred, and the vehicle was inoperable on one occasion. Additionally, the battery charge failed to exceed 72 percent. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2020 Jaguar I-PACE and recall H572 involving the high-voltage battery pack. My vehicle has approximately 90,000 miles. I received information regarding recall H572, which involves a potential thermal issue with the high-voltage battery pack that can create a safety risk. I am concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle because of the battery issue and the potential for a high-voltage battery failure or thermal event. I have relied on this vehicle for transportation, and the recall has significantly affected my confidence in the vehicle and its safety. I have contacted Jaguar Land Rover regarding this issue and have attempted to have the matter resolved. I believe NHTSA should be aware of my experience because this involves a high-voltage EV battery and a potential fire/thermal safety concern. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and review whether Jaguar Land Rover's handling of this recall adequately addresses the safety risk to owners of affected I-PACE vehicles.
