My vehicle suffered a complete loss of power when trying to accelerate from a low rate of speed. This has now happened twice while driving and poses a safety risk to me and my family. The problem has not been reproduced by the dealer. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer. There was no warning or symptoms before the problem occured. Warning lamps appeared after the problem.

Our 2026 Hyundai Palisade has experienced repeated dangerous electrical failures while driving. XXX All instrument displays went completely black while driving. The engine continued running. Gateway Hyundai in Fargo, ND, checked the vehicle but verbally reported finding no diagnostic codes. XXX While driving on the highway at night, the interior displays and exterior lights repeatedly flickered off and on. XXX The vehicle unexpectedly lost power and shut down at highway speed, requiring a tow to Don Bessette Hyundai in [XXX]. The dealership documented 36 stored diagnostic trouble codes, primarily communication faults. The codes were cleared, and an ECM software update was performed. No confirmed cause was identified. XXX The instrument panel went completely black twice while driving, lasting approximately 10 minutes and 14 minutes. XXX While driving at night, the interior and exterior lights again flickered off and on. Approximately 30 minutes later, the instrument panel went black and the exterior lights dimmed. We pulled over, activated the hazard lights, and restarted the vehicle, but normal lighting did not return. We drove approximately 14 miles with hazard lights on to reach the nearest town. The lights eventually returned, but the instrument panel continued flickering, the front camera repeatedly reported being disabled, and driver-attention warnings appeared during the drive home. These failures continued after dealership service and a software update. We are concerned about another sudden loss of engine power, headlights, or critical driver information at highway speeds. These failures pose a serious safety risk to occupants and other motorists. We request that NHTSA investigate these electrical failures. Korum Hyundai documented my 2026 Palisade Calligraphy as having a “Failing bumper support structure” and noted a rear-bumper indentation on 3 of 4 vehicles inspected. Purchased 1/28/26, delivered 3/1/26. After road trips and the first wash following the 30-day ceramic-coating cure, the indentation was clearly evident. Multiple inspections found no evidence of impact or camera-recorded damage. The bumper was replaced through insurance and recoated. After another 30-day cure, the same indentation was again evident after the next wash and now appears better or worse depending on driving, weather and temperature. Korum referred me to Hyundai Motor America. After nearly 3 months of calls, emails and delays with no repair or resolution, Hyundai is now sending me back to Korum on 11/5. I am going in circles while the documented “Failing bumper support structure” remains unresolved with Hyundai of America/Korum Hyundai.

FACT: Complete failure by selling dealer Jeff Wyler Hyundai Colerain to perform manufacturer-mandated Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) under R.C. 4517.53 prior to delivery on July 20, 2026. Consequently, high-voltage hybrid computer updates, safety modules, Hybrid Control Unit (HCU), Battery Management System (BMS), and AWD actuators were never verified for road readiness. Dealer also failed to lower tires from 47 PSI shipping pressure to 36 PSI operating pressure. Operating this vehicle with unconfigured hybrid modules and tires over-inflated to 47 PSI (found around 8/12) caused severe, structural drivetrain vibrations during the first 1,100 miles (9/3). RoadForce balancer identified one bad tire (9/10) which was replaced. However, we suspect the remaining 3 tires are compromised with internal belt micro-tears as balancers cannot replicate highway speed/heat. Vibration remained after tire replacement. Further diagnostics found the propeller shaft assy was bad so it was replaced (9/21). Vibration is still unresolved; technicians are currently on track to inspect the AWD coupler. FACT: When confronted, selling dealer’s General Counsel formally denied liability (9/29), pointing to a service record executed by our local facility two months post-sale (at 1,570 miles) as satisfying their PDI requirement. Selling dealer then telephoned our local service manager (9/30) asking why they had not "claimed" the PDI with corporate. This inquiry proves selling dealer was entirely ignorant of manufacturer protocols requiring a PDI to be executed and claimed within 300 miles or prior to sale. SUSPECTED DOCUMENT MANIPULATION: On state Form BMV 4740, dealer checked "Gas/Diesel" instead of "Hybrid." We believe this was done to evade the R.C. 4503.10(C) hybrid fee and bypass Hybrid safety flags. Dealer had us initial the box, violating Ohio CSPA R.C. 1345.01 and exposing us to an R.C. 2913.42 records tampering fallout.

these vehicles are having disabling electrical issues, mine has been in the shop for 3 weeks and the Dealership along with Tech support from Hyundai are unable to repair yet. As I searched online forums I have found that every one of the 2026 palisade are having electrical issues that they cannot find a repair for and lot of these vehicles have been in the shop for over a month.

The engine misfires and runs very rough when stopped in drive after highway driving, and the vehicle hesitates and struggles to accelerate from a stop. At about 3,000 miles, Phil Long, Colorado Springs diagnosed a failing cylinder 6 fuel injector and replaced it on 22 April 2025. The problem continues after that repair. The condition repeats in the same way. After 15 minutes to 1 hour of interstate driving, I exit the highway. When I stop at the first traffic light on the off ramp, the engine begins idling very rough, and the tachometer shows about 500 RPM. When I shift to park, the idle smooths out. When I shift back to drive, it becomes very rough again. Pulling away from the light is difficult because the vehicle hesitates and does not accelerate normally. This has happened three times since the repair, most recently on [XXX] at about 5,800 miles. The check engine light did not come on. Conditions: 80 F, clear weather. [XXX] exit [XXX]. This is a safety concern because the vehicle may not accelerate when I pull into an intersection or merge into traffic. Other 2026 Palisade owners have reported similar misfires and hesitation, and Hyundai issued TSB 26-01-068H (Service Campaign 9D6) for engine misfires on 2026 Palisade 3.5L vehicles. On September 21, 2026, at approximately 9:20 AM, while attempting to turn off the engine of the parked vehicle, the engine failed to shut down as commanded. Due to severe ECM misfire and erratic anti-stall compensation, the engine surged uncontrollably and propelled the vehicle forward. The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) completely failed to detect the obstacle, alert the driver, or apply emergency braking, resulting in an unavoidable low-speed collision and slight front-end body damage. The following day, on September 22, 2026, at approximately 2:49 PM, the vehicle abruptly triggered a powertrain fail-safe mode in traffic, forcefully restricting speed to roughly 20 mph (limp-in mode), when my wife found it when trying to running faster from a STOP mode, to prevent catastrophic catalytic converter damage caused by persistent combustion misfires. It is impossible to be the wrong operation of my wife since limp-in mode cannot be activated during low speed running. On September 23, 2026, the vehicle was taken to an authorized Hyundai dealership to apply pending TSB 26-01-068H (Campaign 9D6). While the dealer completed the software update and reported no active DTCs remained afterward, Hyundai Motor America has flatly denied manufacturer liability for the property damage incurred directly prior to this safety remedy. Hyundai's ECM software logic flaw poses a critical safety risk involving unintended acceleration, complete shutdown failure, and active safety system non-intervention. I request NHTSA investigate this defect and Hyundai's refusal to remediate related incident damage.

The 1 year old vehicle experienced a serious transmission/drivetrain malfunction that ultimately made it unable to drive. On September 3, 2026, while I was on the road, the vehicle stopped operating properly and had to be towed to the Hyundai dealership. The vehicle and affected components remain available for inspection at the dealership. The failure created a safety risk because the vehicle became unreliable and inoperable while being used on public roads. A sudden loss of propulsion or inability to move normally could have placed me and other motorists at risk, especially in active traffic. The problem was reproduced and confirmed by the Hyundai dealership. After performing work, the dealer told me the vehicle was ready for pickup on September 4. However, the same issue was still present before I even left the dealership, so I left the vehicle there again. A few days later, when I returned to retrieve personal belongings, the service advisor said the vehicle could not be driven and we had to go to the rear parking area where it was stored. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced by an authorized Hyundai dealership, and Hyundai corporate has also been contacted regarding the issue. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or an independent repair facility. Prior to the complete failure, the vehicle showed symptoms of improper transmission/drivetrain operation. The revolutions would spike when gas was applied and then lurch forward when it finally caught. The problem became severe enough on September 3 that I could no longer safely continue driving and required a tow. I do not recall a specific warning lamp or dashboard message and would rely on Hyundai’s diagnostic records for any stored fault codes or warnings.

The contact owns a 2026 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while at a stoplight and attempting to depress the accelerator pedal while making a left turn, the vehicle lost power. The Police showed up on the scene and were able to jumpstart the vehicle and called AAA to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine control module needed to be updated. The engine control module was updated; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the dealer test drove the vehicle and informed the contact that the vehicle was operating as intended. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 300.

Vehicle purchased new in August 2026. Within 80 miles, it began experiencing a recurring electrical fault causing simultaneous warnings across the steering, braking, and driver-assistance systems (DTCs C28C586, C164286, C181486, C181483, logged via Hyundai's Bluelink diagnostic system). The fault has recurred at least 9 times between 80 and 1,121 miles despite three repair attempts (8/28/26, 9/8/26, 9/14/26), including one escalation to Hyundai's national TechLine (Case #2026091700002) referencing TSB 25-GI-016H. Each repair was declared successful, and the identical fault returned within days each time. During active occurrences, dashboard alerts have included "Check Driver Assistance System," "Check Rear Cross-Traffic Safety System," and simultaneous warnings for lane departure, forward collision, blind spot, and anti-lock braking systems. This represents a loss of reliable communication between safety-critical systems (steering assist, ABS, and driver-assistance) while driving, creating a risk of degraded steering or braking response without warning. Manufacturer has declined to repurchase or replace the vehicle.
