Bought the car with 31000 miles. Year of the ca is 2024. Bought it from Honda of Kenosha. CarFax states they have done a 176 point inspection.. During test drive everything was normal. After buying the car and driving on [XXX] to Milwaukee, the car wonders left and right following groves on the road. Feels like driving on ice, if not paying attention could end in another lane. Went to Journey Nissan three times for the same issue. The issue was disregarded all three times and only suggestion was to turn off driver assists. Which they were off all the time. Even then driving assists should not be doing that. Now car has started doing a slight vibration during drives. On XXX, about 7:40 p.m., my 2024 Nissan Pathfinder (approx. 24,300 miles) accelerated unexpectedly on XXX southbound toward [XXX], with my daughter aboard. It was dark, dry and cool. ProPILOT Assist/adaptive cruise was set to 80 mph at the closest following distance and had operated for 60–90 minutes. The engine sounded louder, the SUV surged and rapidly closed on traffic ahead. Braking did not stop the repeated acceleration. I switched cruise fully off; its dash indicators disappeared, yet acceleration continued. Each time I eased off the brake, the engine revved to about 5,000 RPM or higher and the SUV accelerated rapidly, reaching about 85 mph or more. I had to brake extremely hard, smelled overheated brakes and made emergency lane changes to avoid collisions. No warning lights appeared. I stopped on the shoulder, still in Drive, and held the brake about 30 seconds. Upon releasing it, the SUV lunged forward aggressively again, unlike normal creeping in Drive. I braked and shifted to Park. I cannot confirm if the RPMs increased over 5000, but it aggressively, quickly lunged forward again. My husband drove it another 90 minutes, briefly engaging/disengaging cruise several times. He noticed hesitation or sputtering, especially uphill, but no repeat of the severe acceleration. A short drive the next morning without cruise was normal. Earlier XXX, blind-spot mirror warnings failed to illuminate for about four passing vehicles, then resumed. A low key-fob battery alert appeared the prior week; a large windshield crack was noticed XXX. Connections are unknown. Nissan Roadside was contacted XXX. Tow/inspection is pending after an initial tow was canceled because the SUV would be left outside a locked dealer gate. The vehicle is available for inspection; no diagnosis yet. Please investigate unintended acceleration, brakes, throttle, ProPILOT/cruise and preserve any available electronic/event data. We narrowly avoided serious collisions. AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT JUST CAME ON.

I am reporting premature and potentially abnormal rear brake wear on my 2024 Nissan Pathfinder with approximately 19,600 miles. During an inspection, the Nissan dealership (Nissan City of Red Bank) measured the rear brake pads at only 1 mm, while the front brake pads measured 6 mm. The dealership recommended replacing the rear brake pads and rotors. The extreme difference in wear between the front and rear brakes at such low mileage raises serious concerns about excessive or abnormal rear brake wear. With only 1 mm of friction material remaining, the rear pads are nearly worn out, creating a potential safety concern and requiring premature replacement of the pads and rotors. The dealership indicated that premature rear brake wear is a known problem with Nissan Pathfinders. Reports from other owners of 2024 Nissan Pathfinders describe similar rear brake wear at approximately 16,000 to 20,000 miles, including cases in which the rear pads were nearly worn out while the front pads retained substantially more material. These similar reports raise concerns that this may be a recurring problem rather than an isolated incident. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder has a defect or mechanical issue causing excessive premature rear brake wear. NHTSA should determine whether this condition affects other vehicles, whether the manufacturer is aware of the problem, and whether corrective action is necessary to protect vehicle occupants and the public. Brake components are critical to vehicle safety, and premature wear of this severity warrants investigation.

Purchased new 1/15/2025. First issue with this car happened Oct 2025 with something electrical drawing power. This caused AT codes, auto start/stop codes, front and rear collision codes etc. Took it in they charged the battery and told be they didnt know what was causing the draw. Replaced the battery 10/11/2025. 11/19/2025 had another catastrophic electrical failure at 19,426 miles on OD. Vehicle threw all of the codes. Nissan kept the vehicle and charged and cleared codes. 12/18/2025 vehicle started hesitating and threw codes again. Nissan replaced the fuel pump. Front and rear collision malfuctions remained frequent along with infotainment reboots. Oct 1 2026 vehicle threw all codes again while driving causing loss of power and drivability. Had to be towed in. Vehicle acted the same way as previous. Nissan is now trying to claim it had to do with a improperly seated air filter causing the maf sensor to fail, they cleaned it"reseated" air filter and stated the car was running but they could not get it to do a idler relearn and told me I could pick up the vehicle but they recommended replacing the maf. The car is still sittting at nissan because i refuse to pick it up unless they cover that under there emissions warranty and put in writing that this is the sole issue and any problems with the vehicle in regards to prior issues already complained about will result in replacement of vehicle etc

I leased this 2024 Nissan Pathfinder new, and the issue began almost immediately, at approximately 13 miles. I initially noticed intermittent stuttering and the vehicle jumping or lurching forward following acceleration. Because I trusted the Nissan brand and initially assumed the behavior may have been related to normal vehicle operation or user error, I did not immediately pursue the issue. At approximately 21,000 miles, the problems became significantly more frequent and pronounced. I began experiencing unexpected engine shutoffs, as well as instances where the Auto Hold feature would fail to disengage when I attempted to accelerate. These incidents have occurred in carpool lines, pharmacy drive-through lines, at red lights, and at stop signs. The most concerning incident occurred when the vehicle stalled and shut off while I was stopped at a red light. Because the vehicle was immobile, I had to continuously honk to alert approaching drivers. A truck approaching from behind came dangerously close to rear-ending my vehicle. This incident raised serious concerns about the safety of the vehicle, particularly because I regularly transport my children. The unexpected engine shutoffs, stuttering/lurching, and failure of the vehicle to respond normally when accelerating present an ongoing safety concern. The vehicle has been taken to Nissan dealerships for inspection, and I have also reported these concerns to Nissan Consumer Affairs. Despite multiple service visits and reports, the issues have continued. Nissan has indicated that it has been unable to duplicate the condition. However, the circumstances under which I experience the problem are not necessarily replicated during dealership testing. For example, the vehicle has experienced these issues while sitting for extended periods in pharmacy drive-through lines, carpool pickup lines, and other stop-and-go situations, as well as while stopped at traffic signals and stop signs. Legend Nissan service states at 13,623 miles my vehicle needs rear brake pads & rotors resurfaced. They initially stated they will pay for parts, but I will have to pay for labor. I have been driving for over 40 years & never had a vehicle need brakes & rotors at 13,623 miles. This is a manufacturer defect which should warrant a recall. After doing my due diligence I discovered there are numerous customer complaints, & class action lawsuits regarding this make/model (Nissan Pathfinder). I notified Nissan Consumer Affairs & was told by a gentleman named “Smith” Nissan will only pay for the parts & I would be responsible for labor. I disagree with their decision that this is normal wear & tear!

This was the first of FIVE failtures, on other complaints, I had put FOUR however, my daughter reminded me coming back from [XXX] in XXX that it happened on XXX. I have been trying to work with Nissan for two years on this. I am sharing you, we absolutely are afraid to take this vehicle back, it's not safe for anyone to possess as it will result in loss of life. Nissan needs to own up to this failure and repurcase this and use it for tests to figure out why their main communication system is not relating. I was out in the middle of nowhere and scared to death that it was going to continue to die on me, I stopped finally at a Pilot and a nice employee at Pilot who just got off work helped me. He disconnected the battery twice, we let it sit, then it started and cleared. I had taken a time stamped photo and sent to my husband for guidance. We took the vehicle to Nissan the tech said they could not duplicate the error, this was the first of a two year struggle with trying to work with Nissan and figure out what was wrong. After this last XXX incident Complaint XXX, XXX and I am entering two more where I have either video, photos, or both. I have been gathering witness statements. I am a XXX in the field for 34 years and my husband a XXX and also a XXX. We are smart people who happened to buy a LEMON of a vehicle that is not safe for it to be on the road. Looking from this time, my family is so lucky that none of us got killed on the side of the road, on the Interstate itself, or simply driving to and from our home in the mountains here in [XXX]. We are just terrified to be in this vehicle. Also, the saddest thing I want noted, is these are mostly HIGHEWAY miles back and forth to my daughters house in [XXX]. Not even in town miles and the vehicle has done these things. Please please help us hold Nissan accountable. This vehicle is a danger to human life. THIS is the third MAJOR safety that I have had at this point, with FOUR in total and that isn't the little things, that is the MAJOR SAFETY events where we've been terrified to drive the vehicle. I had washed my car in the car wash and after exiting about a mile down the street, the vehicle made a jar and all the lights on the dash started throwing malfunction errors like a Christmas tree again. I was stalled at the busy intersection. I had total loss of power and it was 98 outside by myself . I had two gentlemen help me try to get into neutral to get out of the busy intersection. We finally were able to get to the Walmart parking lot across the street. Called Nissan, the service team asked to disconnect battery etc and see, which we had already done, and then we did it again. I was terrified to drive to the dealership with it and when I did, AGAIN, NIssan responded with they cannot duplicate the codes, showing no codes, even after I showed them the photos. This vehicle is unsafe for anyone to drive it. Even if Nissan buys this back on a repurchase and then puts it on the road, someone or multiple fatalities will happen with this vehicle. WE believe their main communication system doesn't communicate . The Nissan app itself throws me ABS codes for weeks and they show no ABS codes on a separate incident. We have a vehicle that we are terrified to take on the road and can depend on. Nissan fails to acknowledge they have an issue with their safety systems. Also, while driving down the road about a week before this, the driver's door latch was just clicking up and down and literally trying to open the door going down the highway at 70 MPH. Another safety thing that happens continuously, the passenger safety indicators in the back seat, constantly error out. Nissan's response, they are aware of this one, just disable them. Well, I don't have children, however, seriously that is their advice if a child dies?

On September 13, 2026, my 2024 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 4WD experienced a sudden and severe electronic/system malfunction while I was driving on I-75 near the Jellico Mountains in KY into TN. I was traveling at highway speed in the fast lane and was passing multiple semi-trucks when the malfunction occurred. Because I was in mountainous terrain, traveling at highway speed, and surrounded by heavy commercial traffic, the situation created an immediate and serious safety concern. We could have been killed. The malfunction involved multiple vehicle systems and warning indicators appearing or becoming unavailable at approximately the same time. . The vehicle appeared to experience a cascade of electronic/system errors and power failure. This is the FOURTH occurrence this has happened to us and Nissan says they cannot duplicate the errors or what happened. After the fist time, I knew as a retired insurance agent, to document and take photos which I did. I have the last three. Based on the nature of the simultaneous failures, I am concerned about a possible malfunction involving the vehicle's electronic control system, control modules, communication network (CAN), power supply/voltage regulation, or software. I am specifically concerned that a failure in communication between the vehicle's primary electronic control modules could cause multiple systems to report faults simultaneously. We are begging NHTSA to investigate these Pathfinders. We have lost confidence that the vehicle is safe, especially in the mountains. We live on a mountain and we are terrified to drive it ever again. I truly believe this vehicle if put back on the road, would end up with fatalities. The vehicle was towed to the Nissan Dealership and remains in Nissan's possession. Nissan is sending a head engineer on October 1st to look at the vehicle. We do not want this vehicle returned to us or even sold to anyone, as it is not a safe vehicle to be on the road. Please please help us.
