On XXX on XXX in [XXX] my wife and I were driving on a clear day at about 55 MPH and we heard an explosion like a gunshot. We quickly realized that our sunroof had exploded above our heads. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw a car behind me swerve to avoid the glass shards that had flown out of our car. We pulled off the highway and tried as best as we could to clean up the glass and we had to drive slowly home. We had some scratches but that is all. RE: XXX- Complaint # XXX for NHTSA Investigation EA25004 - Issues related to Auto Idle Stop - Battery & Starter failures. XXX - Complaint # XXXfor Honda Corporate asking to be part of extended warranty for TSB 23-008 and TSB 23-009 XXX - Ticket #XXX-Honda Cars of McKinney - reported continued issues with sluggish starts from HOT vehicle and failure of Auto Idle Stop/Restart * Asked for complete check of electrical system including battery, relays, starter and review of internal recalls, TSBs, and referenced NHTSA investigation EA25004. * Battery was replaced XXX at a cost of $402.08 and checked okay * Starter failed check with excessive resistance causing sluggish starts, and failure of Auto Idle Stop function to restart vehicle in traffic. Both the starter and relay assembly were replaced at a cost of $786.28. * Requested Honda Goodwill Assistance review as this is a known problem under Honda TSB 23-008 and 23-009 to cover these expenses outside the standard warranty. Hendricks Auto Group(McKinney) and Honda Corporate refused to apply the Goodwill Assistance so I had to pay out-of-pocket for a known issue for this model year vehicle. They claimed the original owner failed to bring the vehicle in for this work, and I as the second owner was basically a 'buyer beware' even though there was nothing reported on the CARFAX report. * I feel this is a safety issue Honda clearly knew about, and without the work done by the first owner, it exposed my family to a dangerous issue in that the car would fail to restart safely in traffic leaving us vulnerable to an accident and in [XXX] - road rage. Automatic Stop/Start at idle control failed to Restart. Manual restarting of the engine blocked or delayed by the system at or in intersections or traffic delays causing danger of blocked traffic or collision. Local dealer has inspected and deemed the problem caused by the starter, but is not able to repair due to volume of incidents with other units. No System warnings we indicated. Multiple incidents over the last three weeks.

* Purchased this vehicle used from Eckert Hyundai-Denton Texas - mileage 45,835 * 2024 Honda Passport Blk Edition-VIN [XXX] mileage - 48,406 * Reference NHTSA EA25004, Honda Service Bulletin 23-008 1-Having issues with engine/idle/restart allowing vehicle to die at red lights and failing to restart(engine dying/difficult to restart). This caused the vehicle to die several times at a red light and we could not get it easily started again, resulting in traffic delays and very upset drivers behind me. Finally able to restart after several attempts. Have to disengage this feature each time we drive now. 2-Also having issues with what appeared to be weak or dying battery. 3- Took to Honda Cars of McKinney, they diagnosed with weak battery, and replaced it at a cost to me of $402.08 at mileage 46,868 on XXX. 4- I am still having issues with 'reluctant/slow to start' issues, and engine/idle/restart 5- I would like this to be included in NHTSA EA25004, issued XXX if possible. When we come to a stop position, the Fuel Savings Cut off does not start back up and the car stalls and shifts back to N. Takes for ever to re start if it can re start. This has happened to us more that 6 times. I took it this morning to Flow Honda of Charlottesville and talked to the service manager, Jackie. I felt like she thought I had three heads and didn't know what I was talking about, even though I enclosed a printed copy of the issues Honda was having with the Fuel Savings feature cut off.

Emergency braking engages with oncoming traffic and front rotors continually warp. Risking safety.

I bought the car brand new in the spring of 2024 and noticed shaking when braking after a few months. In January 2025 I had the rotors resurfaced at the dealer because they where warped. The brake shaking started again around March 2026. After searching several forums, turns out that this seems to be a common issue where the rotors warp constantly, requiring resurfacing several time or changing rotors every couple of years. The warping cause vibrations in the steering which affects handling. The vehicle shakes when braking at various speeds.

I have had my rotors turned 3 times and replaced once in the span of 2 years. They are warped each time, causing pulsing in the front end when braking. My brake pads have never needed to be replaced. I was told by the mechanic that taking a road trip puts a lot of strain on the rotors and overheats them. I am finding this is a common issue for many other owners of this vehicle. Mine has 27k miles on it. The first 3 times the car was in for having the rotors turned was within the first 6 months of ownership, under 10k miles, and I am the only owner.

Purchased car new. Problems with brake system started at 6k mls. Problems got progressively worse to 29k mls where now rotors are being replaced due to “extreme warping” with pads, calibers, and everything else deemed fine. On brief internet search it was apparent that this rotor warping at low milage is a common problem. Warped rotors are a safety hazard to the driver, their passengers, and everyone else on the road with them. Please investigate.

I have a 2024 Passport Black Edition that has had front brake rotor issues since about 4k miles. It has has struts, wheel hubs, bearings, brake pads rotors either replaced or resurfaces 4 times and i am afraid to drive the vehicle at this point. Its been parked since Oct 2025 after the last repair while i fight with Honda to take the vehicle back .
