2019 Porsche Cayenne Recalls & Complaints

The contact owns a 2019 Porsche Cayenne. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V896000 (Back Over Prevention). The contact stated that the cameras including the front and rear cameras were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair; however, three attempts to complete the driver assistance software update had failed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Porsche has released a recall campaign but after taking my vehicle to a Porsche dealership to fix the recall, they informed me that they have not been given a remedy to the recall.

The AC evaporator failed at only 50,000 miles which is a manufacturer defect, as this part is not designed to fail and should withstand the life of the vehicle. When I wrote to Porsche regarding the failure, they tried to indicate or even suggest that this is normal wear and tear and the price of vehicle ownership. That is not a valid statement! This failure is considered premature and there is considerable documented evidence and concern widespread throughout the internet to back up this claim. It cost us almost $9000 to repair and almost a month of being in the shop. This is a significant repair and we actually took considerable time to not only research the issue, but quote the repair with other shops since Porsche wanted almost $15000 to conduct the repair. We would like this investigated as well as find out if there is any form of compensation we can seek due to the issue. Also, we were advised that the evaporator was leaking harmful chemicals through the vents of the ac, which cause mold and illness.

Perelli scorpion Verde tires started showing sidewall degradation and pitting in 2003 or earlier – the earliest photos we have are dated 2003. The tires had to be replaced due to the degradation and we requested the tire shop to look into a warranty claim. The tire shop changed hands and we went through four managers and weren’t able to get a clear answer, during that time the tires continued to get worse and pit. We found numerous reports on the Internet of the same tire having a identical issue and believe it is a material defect and safety issue of this tire.

The Waste Gate Arm has broken on my 2019 Cayenne. This is a widely known issue with Porsches. Feels like this needs a recall. It is absurd to me that the dealers want to replace the whole turbo unit at $7-9k when a simple weld can fix. I am 6 months out of the 7 year warranty but under the 70k mileage. I am pushing the dealer to work this out. But it is crazy that Porsche isn’t held accountable for a design flaw.

Complaint regarding a battery-monitoring/sensor issue, 2019 Porsche Cayenne and Porsche’s subsequent handling of the related repair. On May 22, 2023, at approximately 27,625 miles, my 2019 Porsche Cayenne was serviced by Fox Valley Porsche under Repair Order 103905. While driving a “battery charging warning.” showed, I was very scared. Dealer diagnosed a battery sensor failure and replaced the 12-volt battery. The invoice shows a battery charge of 1,957.87, plus labor. Repair documentation states “WMJ9 — Campaign not required.” I am asking NHTSA to investigate, whether the battery-sensor condition that resulted in my battery being replaced was related to the condition addressed by Porsche campaign WMJ9 and whether this condition can cause premature or unnecessary 12-volt battery replacement. Porsche subsequently identified the active fault associated with my vehicle as P1D6C00 and described it as a defect in the battery sensor located inside the battery. Porsche also stated that the vehicle’s battery-sensor software was already at software level 0164 and therefore the WMJ9 campaign was not performed. Porsche’s WMJ9 campaign addressed a battery-sensor/software condition involving incorrect battery-aging calculations and the potential for premature battery replacement. Because my vehicle had a battery-sensor fault and the dealer replaced the battery during the same general period that this campaign existed, I repeatedly asked Porsche and the dealer to establish why my battery itself required replacement rather than the condition being addressed through WMJ9. I requested objective documentation: • battery’s state of health/capacity at May 2023 repair; • battery test results; • diagnostic evidence physical battery failed, rather than only the battery sensor; • PIWIS diagnostic/scan information or other supporting diagnostic records; • basis for determining WMJ9 was unrelated Neither dealer, nor North America Porsche could provide factual test results.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the contact was unsure if the vehicle was inspected. The dealer had not provided a diagnostic test information. The contact was informed that parts were unavailable. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V896000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the parts were unavailable. In addition, the contact was informed that the parts would be available within two months. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Porsche Cayenne. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in reverse(R), the back-over prevention camera failed to provide a rear-view image. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V896000 (Back Over Prevention); and associated the failure with the recall. The local dealer was contacted; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

The dashboard is peeling up and is unsafe due to airbag being underneath the leather dash. If airbag was to blow it would not function correctly due to dashboard leather peeling. Could potentially injur passenger or not deploy at all.

2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo (EA825 4.0L V8, VIN [XXX]). Vacuum-actuated water pump seal failure caused coolant infiltration of the vacuum system on two separate occasions during the CPO warranty period. The vacuum system on this engine supplies the brake servo (brake booster) — a safety-critical connection documented in Porsche and Audi's own engineering literature for this engine (NHTSA document MC-XXX). First failure: XXX (92,916 miles, RO XXX). Towed in overheating. Technician documented coolant infiltrating vacuum system. Coolant pump replaced. Vacuum lines not inspected or replaced. Vacuum pump not inspected or replaced. PCNA's own ATI 2235.1 (NHTSA MC-XXX) required vacuum line inspection — not performed. Second failure: October 3, 2025 (103,904 miles, RO 207205). Coolant documented at timing chain cover. Coolant pump replaced. Change-over valve not replaced — required unconditionally by ATI 2235.1. Vacuum lines not inspected or replaced. No PQIS fault code logged — required by PCNA TSB 2307 (NHTSA MC-XXX). No oil analysis performed. No timing chain cavity inspection. Service visit performed one month before CPO expiration. Third visit: XXX (103,988 miles, RO XXX). Cracked breather hose found 84 miles after second service. Vacuum system still unremediated. Current failure: March 2026. Severe valvetrain noise on cylinder bank 2. Engine-out diagnosis required. Estimate $13,286.57. Vehicle currently at Porsche Novi/Farmington Hills. PCNA denied coverage June 25, 2026 without referencing a single technical bulletin, repair order, or published protocol from the documented record. The brake servo vacuum supply connection — documented in PCNA and Audi's own engineering literature — makes this a safety matter.
