Defect description

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Mack MD, 2019-2025 Anthem, Granite, 2024 MD Electric, and 2025 Pinnacle trucks equipped with a passenger bench seat. The seat belt anchorage bracket may be improperly welded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."

Safety consequence

An improperly welded seat belt anchorage bracket can detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Manufacturer remedy

Dealers will install a reinforcement plate, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 21, 2026. Owners may contact Mack's customer service at 1-800-866-1177. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

Safety consequence

An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024 MD6 and MD7 vehicles. The park brake light may indicate the incorrect brake status due to an incorrect park brake pressure switch.

Safety consequence

The park brake light may indicate that the park brake is applied when it is not, possibly resulting in a vehicle roll away and increasing the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Defect description

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024 MD trucks. The steering wheel attachment bolt may loosen and separate from the steering shaft, causing the steering wheel to detach.

Safety consequence

A detached steering wheel can cause a loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer remedy

Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the repair has been performed. Dealers will replace the steering wheel retention bolt, free of charge.
