Defect description
International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB and 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The body panel joint may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such these vehicle fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."
Safety consequence
The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.
Free manufacturer remedy
Dealers will inspect and repair the interior vertical joint as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 18, 2026. International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. The brake lines may have been installed with incorrect hardware, which can result in brake line damage and cause a leak.

International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2023-2027 IC Bus CESB school buses. While carrying the maximum number of occupants, the bus may exceed Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) when the fuel tank and fluid reservoirs are full.
Safety consequence
An incorrect GVWR may lead to unintentionally overloading the bus, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free manufacturer remedy
Dealers will inspect and repair suspension as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by December 22, 2025. The underfloor reinforcement may not have been installed, compromising the structural integrity of the buses. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages" and 222, "School Bus Passenger Seating and Crash Protection."
Safety consequence
Reduced structural integrity may increase the risk of injury in a crash.

A parking brake that is not engaged as expected when the driver releases the brakes may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of crash.

A bus that moves while the platform lift is in operation increases the risk of injury.
