So I had my tires put on today and during that time I did a claim on here. And I just found out that my crankshaft is almost hanging out. And I read on Google. That’s something that usually happens with these once they’re in the high mileage which mine is. Claim # [XXX] was the claim I did before this one I had hit potholes several in Madera, California, where I live. The roads are very bad. I have a few complaints. First the most important. I was sitting in the drivers seat waiting on my kids. I accidentally pushed the set seat. Which seat 1 & 2 are both set pretty far back. Well for whatever reason it kept moving my seat forward toward the steering wheel, which at first I was like OK laughing but then it kept going and then I got stuck in between the steering wheel and the seat and it wasn’t stopping so I opened my door and I believe that’s what stopped. I can’t remember I panicked and kind of laid to the side, but it really hurt. Second thing is when I turn my car is making a ticking noise. I’m getting that checked out today. Third thing is my car would not turn on the other day and I put the key fob in the middle where the cupholders are like I’m supposed to if that happens and it didn’t work. Luckily, some lady knew what to do. She put my key fob towards the start button and it started right up? We’ve been having problems with the starting up and not want to start for a while now sometimes it doesn’t when I have my door open and try to start the car which I didn’t know you have to have the door closed to start it but then it seems like after that happened. I’ve had problems with that ever since. Also, somebody tried to break into my gas tank and I’ve been having problems when pumping gas. I cannot afford to fix it right now. But most importantly, I don’t want someone else getting squished or worse than what happened to me with the steering wheel and the seat. I am overweight, but it only would stop. I believe when I open the door I can’t remember cause I panicked, but I tried pressing the buttons and it wouldn’t stop and I believe it was cause I open the door. I think I even turned off the car and it still kept going.

I lost power while on the Freeway any indicators flashed: "see manual", "pre-collision assist not available", "service advance track", "downhill assist not available", the check engine light was on. It seems that when to limp mode. I took it to the Ford fusion dealer so they could check the car. They run into test and found that the transmission or motor has failed. I check and found that on that year make and model some cars were affected and it was a recall for that. This is the recall If the torque converter weld studs fail, the torque converter will not be connected to the engine flexplate and the vehicle will lose the ability to move, increasing the risk of a crash.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion Energi. The contact stated while attempting to drive out of the drive-thru, the gear shifter was stuck in park(P). The contact had experienced several failures. The contact stated that the transmission failed to shift into drive. The contact stated that once the vehicle was parked the gear shifter remained stuck in park(P). The contact manually depressed the button under the gear shifter to move the gear shifter. The check engine warning light and service reminder light were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer and was diagnosed and determined that the shifter cable bushing had detached and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion Energi. The contact stated that after her son had parked and turned off the vehicle and upon returning to the vehicle, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with battery failure. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost and remained with the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and an estimate of the battery cost was available; however, the contact was unaware when the battery would be in stock. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

The contact stated while depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal failed to return to the original position; or would not respond immediately and effectively to stop the vehicle. The brake warning light was illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was later taken to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the failure experienced was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, with the steering wheel feeling abnormally loose. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the steering column fastener. The vehicle was not repaired. SYNC IN-DASH CONTROL SYSTEM IS SEVERELY DELAYED OR UNRESPONSIVE. ENTIRE SYSTEM SHUTS OF RANDOMLY, GPS LOCATION IS INACCURATE, SYSTEM SWITCHES FROM DAY TO NIGHT MODE CAUSING THE SCREEN TO BE HARD TO SEE. ISSUES OCCUR AT ALL TIMES.

CAR WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY AND THE BACK LITHIUM ION BATTERY IN TRUNK HAD A SHORT AND STARTED ON FIRE WHILE CAR WAS OFF AND NOT PLUGGED IN. BURNT THROUGH TRUNK AND INTO BACK SEAT AND BOTH SPEAKERS ARE GONE. CAR HAS HEAVY SMOKE DAMAGE AND ALL WINDOWS ARE BAD. FOUND BATTERY HARNESS WITH COMPLETELY MELTED WHERE IT PLUGS INTO BATTERY.
