2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer mileage at failure

626 of the 732 complaints on file for the 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer give the vehicle's mileage when the problem happened.

Mileage at failure by component, from owners' complaints to NHTSA
Fuel/Propulsion SystemMedian 55,000 milesMiddle half 45,000–75,000 milesBased on 277 complaints
Electrical SystemMedian 75,000 milesMiddle half 60,000–110,000 milesBased on 155 complaints
Exterior LightingMedian 115,000 milesMiddle half 80,000–150,000 milesBased on 128 complaints
Visibility/WiperMedian 75,000 milesMiddle half 60,000–110,000 milesBased on 66 complaints

A component's median is its 50th percentile, and its middle half runs from its 25th to its 75th percentile.

Owners give the mileage themselves, often as a round number, and NHTSA doesn't check it. A complaint that names several components counts under each one, and mileages that can't be right, such as 999,999, or 50 miles on a five-year-old car, are left out.

These figures describe the complaints owners filed. They don't predict when a particular vehicle will have a problem, and vehicles that never had one aren't counted.

Most complaints NHTSA received since May 17, 2021 give no mileage. So that they aren't undercounted, each one received since then that gives a mileage also stands in for those that gave none, which can put a component's median above most of the mileages it is based on.

NHTSA defect investigations

NHTSA's investigations file lists the 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer in 4 investigations. A listed model year means only that an investigation names it; it says nothing about any particular vehicle. An open investigation is not a finding that a safety defect exists, and NHTSA can close one without a recall.

Driver's Master Power Window Switch may Short

NHTSA #15V599000 · Visibility — Power Window Devices and Controls · NHTSA notice

Reported September 24, 2015 · General Motors LLC

Potentially affected: 9,932 vehicles

Repair completion: 60.73% (latest rate the manufacturer reported to NHTSA; dataset updated November 3, 2026)

Manufacturer campaign 15700 · Owners notified November 2, 2015 · Vehicles built June 3, 2005 – February 20, 2006 (per NHTSA)

Defect description

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer and GMC Envoy vehicles, and 2006 GMC Envoy XL and Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT vehicles. Fluid may enter into the driver's door master power window switch module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board, causing window switches to become inoperative. Previously, the affected vehicles may have had their master power window switch module treated with a protective coating, instead of having it replaced.

Safety consequence

The protective coating may not eliminate the risk that the circuit board could short and result in a fire, even while the vehicle is unattended.

Manufacturer remedy

GM will notify owners, and dealers will install a new driver's door switch module, free of charge. The recall began on November 2, 2015. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15700.

Manufacturer campaign 14291 · Owners notified May 17, 2016 · Vehicles built January 3, 2006 – May 31, 2006 (per NHTSA)

Defect description

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL, 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 9-7x vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the headlamp driver module (HDM) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to not illuminate.

Safety consequence

Headlamps that do not illuminate reduce the driver's ability to see the roadway and reduce the vehicle's visibility to oncoming vehicles, both of which increase the risk of a vehicle crash.

Manufacturer remedy

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the HDM, free of charge. The recall began on May 17, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. GM's number for this recall is 14291.
