The gas gage has been off since I bought it in September 2018. I run out of gas right before 1/4 of a tank and when I fill it it goes about 1/4 over the full line. The passenger seat side airbag went off closing the door May 2019.

After filling the fuel tank there is a strong gas odor that is present until the tank is almost empty. I purchased this vehicle in 2013, and a few years later, I began smelling gas. After doing my due diligence, I found out that there is a recall for this issue, because the check inlet valve at the top of the tank where the filler neck connects to the tank is cracked. Great, NO, only CERTAIN…

2003 Buick Rendezvous mileage at failure

213 of the 281 complaints on file for the 2003 Buick Rendezvous give the vehicle's mileage when the problem happened.

Mileage at failure by component, from owners' complaints to NHTSA
Fuel/Propulsion SystemMedian 85,000 milesMiddle half 60,000–125,000 milesBased on 70 complaints
EngineMedian 70,000 milesMiddle half 50,000–100,000 milesBased on 54 complaints
Electrical SystemMedian 65,000 milesMiddle half 40,000–115,000 milesBased on 36 complaints
Service BrakesMedian 75,000 milesMiddle half 40,000–110,000 milesBased on 36 complaints

A component's median is its 50th percentile, and its middle half runs from its 25th to its 75th percentile.

Owners give the mileage themselves, often as a round number, and NHTSA doesn't check it. A complaint that names several components counts under each one, and mileages that can't be right, such as 999,999, or 50 miles on a five-year-old car, are left out.

These figures describe the complaints owners filed. They don't predict when a particular vehicle will have a problem, and vehicles that never had one aren't counted.
