Safety consequence

An incorrect pressure rating may lead to underinflated tires, increasing the risk of a tire blowout or a crash.

The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label may be incorrect, leading to the vehicle being unintentionally overloaded.

Safety consequence

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.

Safety consequence

A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.

Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2024 TA Series, AT Series, L Series, LR Series Aerial Devices, and AF Series Forestry bodies. The fuel lines may not be properly secured, which can cause the lines to chafe and result in a fuel leak.

Safety consequence

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Free manufacturer remedy

Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the fuel lines. If the lines are improperly secured, Altec will provide a kit to secure the lines. If the lines are damaged, the chassis manufacturer will repair the fuel lines. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 27, 2025. Defect description

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2023-2024 aerial devices, digger diggers, pressure diggers, service trucks, reel lifters, pressure washers, and articulating crane models built on a Freightliner M2 Plus chassis. Please refer to Altec's recall report for specific vehicle make and model details. The lighting wire harness may be overloaded, preventing the vehicle lighting from illuminating. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Safety consequence

Lights that fail to illuminate can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Free manufacturer remedy

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2021-2023 CB5-132D-S vehicles equipped with a Bobcat 260 welder installed on a track system. The welder may be misaligned, preventing the mounting fasteners from being properly tightened.

Safety consequence

Loose fasteners can allow the welder to detach from the vehicle, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Aerial Devices (AT, TA, L44, L45, LR8, AA, AM, AN) and D series Digger Derricks (DH, DL, DM, DT). The power inverter that converts electrical DC power to AC power may have been installed without a circuit breaker to protect the AC output circuit.

Safety consequence

Without a circuit breaker, the AC circuit may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
