2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale Recalls & Complaints

On XXX, my 2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale unexpectedly moved forward when I attempted to shift into reverse while parked in a residential driveway during a DoorDash delivery. The vehicle struck the garage door, causing damage. The cause remains unknown. On XXX the front passenger tire failed and was replaced. On XXX the vehicle became completely inoperable following an apparent transmission failure and was towed to Performance Alfa Romeo of [XXX]. The vehicle remained there approximately two weeks without resolution. Service personnel initially stated it was undrivable due to a headlamp/fuse issue, then claimed it was drivable without performing the stated repair. On XXX Amwell Auto Clinic scanned 27 vehicle systems and documented numerous fault codes involving steering, ABS, electronic stability control, braking signals, and hybrid electronics, including a high-voltage system interlock code. The diagnostic report is attached. On XXX, the vehicle was towed to Alfa Romeo of [XXX]. The dealership documented and repaired a failed 12V battery and an oil pan leak. As of XXX, the vehicle has been out of service for 64 days. Although the dealership says it is ready, the original incident involving unexpected forward movement while in reverse remains unexplained. Despite repeated requests, service personnel responded with vague statements such as "I'll try" and "I'll ask my manager." No documented investigation into this specific malfunction, technical explanation, or confirmation that it has been resolved has been provided. I fear the vehicle could unexpectedly move in the opposite direction of the selected gear again, potentially causing serious injury or another collision. I request that NHTSA investigate this potential safety defect. Diagnostic reports and dealership service records are attached. My sunroof on my 2025 Alfa Romeo Tonale Veroce spontaneously burst as I was driving about 40 mph. Nothing nearby or overhead. It was a loud cracking sound that was startling like a gunshot. Luckily, I had the mesh screen pulled shut so no glass fell on me. I pulled over within a mile to check the damage and take pictures. There was no point of impact as the glass was shattered all around the edge of the seal but still intact in the middle. The dealership said they would fix it as a goodwill gesture but that it wasn't covered under warranty. My new sunroof was to be here in 45 days. I have been waiting 56 days as of this writing. They have not called me since they ordered the part which has me worried and prompted me to report this incident.
