ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE

NHTSA #18V064000

Reported January 22, 2018 · Suzuki Motor of America, Inc.

Defect description

Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain 2017-2018 GSX-R1000, GSX-R1000A, GSX-R1000RA, and GSX-R1000RZA motorcycles. If the drive chain breaks, the motorcycle will lose power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Free manufacturer remedy

Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the Engine Control Module (ECM), and inspect and replace the drive chain and sprockets, as necessary, free of charge.
