2026 Nissan Murano Recalls, Ratings & Complaints

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding recurring electronic and infotainment system malfunctions in my brand-new 2026 Nissan Murano. Since acquiring the vehicle, I have experienced repeated electronic issues, including unexpected audio interruptions and navigation system malfunctions. The navigation map moves erratically across the screen, repeatedly searches for my location, and fails to accurately display my position. On October 31, 2026, while my phone was connected to the vehicle, the navigation system malfunctioned again. The map moved rapidly up and down and could not accurately determine my location. I recorded video evidence of this incident. I previously contacted NissanConnect customer support and was instructed to reboot the system. Despite following these instructions, the problems continue. The vehicle has not yet been inspected or diagnosed by an authorized Nissan dealership. The underlying cause remains unknown, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. These repeated electronic malfunctions in a brand-new vehicle are extremely concerning and frustrating. I purchased a new vehicle expecting reliability, safety, and properly functioning technology. I am concerned that these recurring issues may indicate an underlying electrical or software defect that could potentially affect other vehicle systems. Although I have not experienced engine shutdown or loss of propulsion, I am concerned about the overall reliability and safety of the vehicle. The navigation malfunction also presents a potential safety risk, particularly when driving on unfamiliar roads or relying on GPS directions. I respectfully request that NHTSA document and investigate these recurring electronic malfunctions to determine whether they indicate a potential safety-related defect. The engine and transmission do not run smoothly. It hesitates, and it doesn’t downshift correctly. The engine revs up and will not shift gears properly. It’s jerky. Everything about this engine and transmission feels strange for a luxury car. Sometimes, I don’t feel safe trying to pass somebody. You wouldn’t know how bad of a ride this car is from a 20-minute or even a 10-minute test drive. It’s something you have to own and experience to understand. Whatever they did with this car feels unsafe to drive, especially with the engine stuttering and hesitating the way it does. And I only have 7,700 miles on my car.

The contact owns a 2026 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH and depressing the brake pedal to avoid sudden merging traffic and to decelerate, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The brake pedal was depressed to come to a complete stop and another vehicle behind avoided crashing in to the rear of the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the instrument panel rebooted independently. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it remained for further investigation. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same local dealer where the trunk was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,890.

I was going down a hill and when I tried to slow down the brakes went to the floor and I hit the drive gear button twice and it went back to normal. I did not notice anything on the dash screens that I am aware of.

The 2026 Nissan Murano is a great vehicle, but often times the infotainment display freezes and the restart remedy provided by Nissan does not work either. That is an annoyance but the rear view camera which is a standard safety feature on vehicles does not display either. With the only way to fix the issue is by letting the cats computer sit for a few hours and fully turn off. It has occured many times.
