The infotainment center screen is unresponsive to touch

My 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SE has developed a localized area of unresponsive touch input in the lower-center portion of the infotainment touchscreen. The display itself continues to function normally, but touch commands do not register in the affected area. The failure is repeatable and appears to be a hardware/touchscreen digitizer failure. This creates a safety and vehicle-operation concern because the touchscreen is also used to access and adjust vehicle settings and functions, not just entertainment. When controls are located within the unresponsive area, those settings cannot be adjusted. One specific concern is the vehicle's power-folding mirror setting. If the touchscreen becomes unresponsive in the area needed to access or adjust this setting, the driver may be unable to change the mirror-folding configuration. In cold weather, the mirrors can potentially freeze while folded, creating an operational and visibility concern. I have found other reports of similar touchscreen failures on 2022 Eclipse Cross vehicles. I also found Mitsubishi TSB-25-54-002/TIN-25-54-001 concerning unresponsive SDA2 touchscreens on certain 2020–2022 Mitsubishi vehicles. Mitsubishi identified a touchscreen durability issue and extended coverage to 7 years/unlimited mileage for affected vehicles. I understand the Eclipse Cross is not specifically listed in that bulletin, but I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and investigate whether a recurring touchscreen/digitizer defect affects Eclipse Cross vehicles and can result in loss of access to vehicle settings or other vehicle functions.

There is times when driving that the transmission jerks when I press the pedal, like the car is slipping when acceleration. I have 76,600 miles on it.

The center touchscreen display in my 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SE has developed multiple unresponsive areas, particularly in spots that are frequently used. The unit powers on and displays images, but the touch input does not work in certain sections, making it difficult or impossible to operate important features like navigation, phone pairing, and climate settings through the screen. This failure has the potential to affect safety because the unresponsive areas make it harder to change settings while driving, which can increase driver distraction. It may also impact the visibility and use of the backup camera interface in some cases. The issue appeared gradually over the last few months, and the exact cause is unknown. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. The problem has been confirmed by the driver and is scheduled for inspection by a Mitsubishi dealership. The component is still in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. Mitsubishi has issued a warranty extension for touchscreen failures on the Mitsubishi Outlander due to known defects, however no such extension has been publicly offered for the Eclipse Cross despite similar reports. This raises concerns about inconsistent treatment of similar defects across models. No prior repairs have been attempted, but a reset of the system did not resolve the issue.

The Wind blew the passenger side panels off my car while driving. It even took some of the clips from the car. Safe panels should be tested for extreme wind and should not have fallen off

The contact owns a 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH and turning on the A/C, the vehicle made an abnormal loud sound and shut off inadvertently. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle with the A/C turned on, the failure reoccurred. Upon investigating the failure online, the contact became aware that the vehicle was turning off because the A/C was engaged. The contact turned off the A/C, restarted the vehicle and was able to continue driving. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,350.

the vehicle has steered to the right since I purchased the car with under 20 miles. at 16504 while the car is in park and on there is this strong vibration throughout the whole vehicle.
