COMPONENT & VEHICLE STATUS: 2025 Genesis GV80 (under 20,000 miles). The panoramic moonroof glass suffered a hairline crack originating at the perimeter frame gasket, with a minute ~1 mm mark present along the line. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized dealer, Genesis Corporate was notified of regulatory defect reporting, and the car remains available for NHTSA inspection. INCIDENT DISCOVERY & SYMPTOMS: On XXX, the crack was discovered while stationary, manifesting without dynamic collision or impact. Zero warning lamps or prior symptoms occurred. DEALER & MANUFACTURER ACTION: Genesis Service Center in [XXX] inspected the car on XXX and quoted ~$3,000 out-of-pocket. Pre-drop-off photos confirm the crack originates at the rubber seal. Genesis Corporate Consumer Affairs (Case # XXX, Specialist [XXX]) issued an official written refusal of factory warranty coverage on XXX, citing "outside influence." POOR GLASS ENGINEERING & CABIN SAFETY RISK: Genesis's refusal to provide warranty coverage on the basis that a microscopic ~1 mm surface mark caused total structural glass failure is a direct admission of inadequate glass quality and severe design vulnerability. It acknowledges that the panoramic roof panel lacks basic structural tolerance for routine daily driving. Compounding this primary engineering defect, there is ZERO secondary structural protection: the interior retractable fabric sunshade is non-structural, non-airtight, and incapable of stopping falling glass shards. Catastrophic failure of a fragile roof panel directly exposes cabin occupants to falling debris at highway speeds, creating severe driver distraction, injury risks, potential loss of control, and hazards to trailing traffic. I received a safety recall notification in the mail regarding my 2025 Genesis GV80 reference High Pressure Fuel Crossover Pipe which at this time NO REMEDY is AVAILABLE. This matter has to be resolved ASAP due to a safety hazard to me and my family.

I purchased the vehicle on [XXX], signing purchase contract and paying deposit of $10k. Monday 06/08/26, I received a call from dealership that they need to recoup the vehicle due to safety recall, explaining that they shouldn’t have sold it to me. Apparently, the recall was initiated on 03/02/26, and as of today, “Remedy not yet available”. The sales person, dealership or manufacturer, can not tell me if/when a remedy is coming. It’s been 4 months since recall was initiated when no indication when a remedy is a available. How long should it take for remedy be available? Genesis has known about the issue with the crossover pipe in the engine compartment since July 2024 and just recently notified me by mail regarding the recall. They have no anticipated resolution date.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to file a safety complaint regarding the second-row seat controls in a Genesis GV80. Specifically, I have experienced a potentially dangerous issue involving the automatic seat-folding mechanism being activated unintentionally. In our vehicle, the button used to move or fold the second-row seat can be easily pressed accidentally—for example, by a child’s knee while entering the vehicle. When this occurs, the seat begins moving automatically without adequately detecting whether the seat is occupied. There have been two recent close calls in which one child was already seated in the second row, and another child entering the vehicle inadvertently pressed the button. The seat then began closing/moving toward the occupied position without stopping, creating a risk of injury to the seated child. In these instances, intervention was required to stop the seat movement. This raises serious concerns about the lack of sufficient occupant detection or obstruction detection in the seat mechanism. A system that allows powered seat movement without reliably sensing an occupant or obstruction poses a clear safety hazard, particularly for families with children. I respectfully request that this issue be investigated. It may warrant a recall, software update, or design modification to ensure: Improved occupant detection in the second-row seats Automatic stop or reversal when resistance or obstruction is detected Reduced likelihood of accidental activation of seat controls Thank you for your attention to this matter. I was driving a 2025 Genesis GV80 loaner vehicle at approximately 65-70mph when I began to hear a loud noise and feel shaking consistent with a tire issue. A tire pressure warning appeared on the dashboard. I immediately slowed down and attempted to safely move to the shoulder of the road. While trying to pull over, the vehicles lane keeping assist appeared to resist my steering input, making it difficult to move fully onto the shoulder. I was focused on safely exiting the roadway die to what I believed was failing tire. Trying to reach the shoulder area, the tire suddenly blew out. The vehicle lost control, spun, and we were involved in a head-on collision with a semi-truck. My family and I are fortunate to be alive. I sustained whiplash and ongoing neck pain; my husband suffered a hand injury that is not healing. My daughter had abrasion on her chin but recently has faded away. Since the accident, I have experienced significant anxiety while driving, especially related to vehicle noises and highway conditions. My children faced a traumatic event and still continue to bring up the day of the accident or show signs of it affecting them. My concern is that the lane assist system may have interfered with my ability to safely pull over during an emergency situation involving a tire failure. We are uncertain what caused the initial tire failure. The situation I was in could pose a safety risk to other drivers if the system resists drivers input during critical moments.

Twice my 4 year old grandson has had the foldable seats begin to fold while he was sitting in the chair. Once, while in his car seat and once while the car was parked in the garage while he sat in the rear seat. Both times were accidental. The first time he accidentally pushed the button reaching for a toy, the second time his shoe hit the button while he was climbing into the car to sit. Both I had to press the button reverse the folding option as the seat continued to fold despite the resistance from the chair the first time and again the second time as my grandson was seated while the folding rear seat continued to nearly crush him while folding down. There was a third time while loading groceries in the cargo area. A bag of groceries shifted and hit the button located in the trunk and began folding the chair.
