2024 Fiat 500E Recalls & Complaints

Vehicle is unable to fully charge. It stops without notice and has left us stranded. The car has been at the dealership for seven months. The dealership duplicated the problem, but has been unable to repair it. There are now six (6) other 2024 500e’s at Larry H Miller Fiat in Aurora Colorado with the same problem.

I am filing this complaint because my Fiat 500e has an active safety recall, but I have been unable to obtain a safe, reasonable, or competent recall repair. There is no qualified Fiat service center within a practical distance of my home in Toledo, Ohio. The nearest authorized location, Yark Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, previously mishandled basic warranty EV service and routed my car to unqualified staff, which raises serious concerns about their ability to perform a safety recall correctly. I contacted another recommended Fiat service center (Suburban Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Ann Arbor) and was turned away upon arrival despite having scheduled an appointment. As of now, I have no accessible or reliable way to obtain the federally required recall remedy, which places me at risk and leaves the vehicle in an unsafe and non-compliant condition through no fault of my own. The manufacturer (Stellantis) and dealer network have not provided any workable solution. The recall requires a reasonable remedy, but none currently exists for me.

Incident: July 15, 2025 · Filed: December 5, 2025

The vehicle has stalled twice while driving on a fully charged battery. I was using the 1-pedal driving mode (“Range” mode) during both events. When the stall happened, the system applied the brakes and the steering wheel locked, and I was unable to steer. I was able to restart the car after a few seconds each time. The first stall occurred in town at about 35 mph on a busy road. The second occurred at 70 mph on the freeway shortly after leaving Rairdon’s Fiat in Kirkland, WA, where I had been told the car was repaired. Both events created a serious safety risk, especially the freeway stall where a collision from a fast-moving vehicle or commercial truck could have been fatal. The specific component that failed is unknown. The vehicle has now been at Ron Tonkin Fiat’s service department for more than two months, and any inspection would need to be arranged directly with them. On Nov 5, 2025, the Service Department Head at Ron Tonkin, Terry Bryan, confirmed he was able to reproduce the stalling issue and said a diagnostic code was present, though he did not tell me what it was. The vehicle has been brought in for this issue four times and has been inspected by Rairdon’s Fiat and Ron Tonkin Fiat. It has not been inspected by police or insurance. After the first stall, multiple warning lights began randomly flashing briefly while driving, and every time the car was charged a “Service Electrical System” warning message appeared. There were no warnings before either stall occurred. There is an open case with Fiat Cares. Incident: August 24, 2025 · Filed: November 24, 2025

The contact leased a 2024 Fiat 500E. The contact stated that the windows failed to roll down and the brakes made an abnormal sound while the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the vehicle required the Push to Start button to be pressed three times to start the vehicle. The contact stated that the A/C and heating system were inoperable, and the infotainment system screen occasionally turned black. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer did not provide the diagnostic information and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired at the time. The vehicle was then returned to the contact. The contact stated that the failures had worsened, and the vehicle failed to turn off as needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,730.

Incident: April 1, 2025 · Filed: November 20, 2025

The rear-view camera on my Fiat 500e frequently freezes while I am backing up. This happens at least 3 times per week. The camera image appears normal at first, but then freezes on a still frame while the car is in reverse. This creates a major safety hazard because the display shows a clear path even when something may be behind the vehicle. I have nearly backed into objects because the frozen image does not reflect real-time surroundings. This issue appears to be recurring and not related to weather or driving conditions. Power cycling the car usually clears it temporarily, but the problem returns. A malfunctioning backup camera significantly reduces rear visibility and increases the risk of a collision. I am reporting this because this seems like a safety-critical defect that should be investigated. Frequency: Several times per week since April 2025 when I bought the car. Safety Concern: Yes — backup image is frozen while reversing, giving false sense of clear space.
