Defect description
Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) is recalling certain 2024 CV515 SFA 4x4 and Severe Service emergency vehicles. A node may become unresponsive and cause a loss of functionality of connected components, such as exterior lighting and pump-mode.
Safety consequence
A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. A loss of pump-mode function may prevent or delay the use of emergency equipment, increasing the risk of injury.
Manufacturer remedy
KME will work with Fire Research Corporation to replace the node, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by December 5, 2026. Owners may contact KME customer service at 1-800-235-3928.
