Defect description

Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain 2022 Sundance trailers. The 12-volt mini breaker cover for the slide-out was not installed during production, leading to exposed studs that may cause electrical arcing.

Safety consequence

Electrical arcing between the exposed studs and nearby aluminum ducting can increase the risk of fire and injury.

Manufacturer remedy

Dealers will inspect the 12-volt mini breaker for the slide-out, and install a cover if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 21, 2022. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
