In troubleshooting a power failure in the slide and leveling hydraulic system in this Class A RV, an electrical issue was discovered with the main powerline being frayed and corroded due to its placement next to the gas tank. It appears the power line may have been arching against the fuel tank. This seems like a very dangerous situation and should be reviewed. No incidents happened due to the discovery of this issue, and the powerline was repaired and moved away from the the fuel tank. If this was a repeated manufacturing issue by Tiffin, it should be investigated as it could cause a fire or worse explosion of the fuel tank.

The front suspension bumpstops are falling off of the Ford F53 chassis on many RV's made since 2020.

We purchased a 2022 Tiffin Open Rd. allegro motorhome and had the hydraulic pump replaced. The problem. Is that the slides creep out while driving and when the motorhome is parked?

My motorhome was part of the following recall: NHTSA #22V-273. We had that recall work performed during the summer of 2023. The problem that the recall was supposed to address (the hydraulic slide system "creeping out" on it's own) has now re-appeared. Clearly, the fix for this recall is not working. This issue needs to be re-escalated as it's not safe to drive the motorhome with the slides coming out on their own

Our unit was recalled previously under recall 22V273000 for the slide creeping out. The RV was supposedly repaired prior to leaving the factory. However, over the summer it began to creep out dangerously while driving. Again it was sent in for repairs and "fixed" Again the slide is moving out 5 or so inches while parked and when driving down the road. I am not sure how far out it would extend if I did not pull over and retract it. It also seems to be happening more frequently and moves out faster.

The coach has developed 5 stress fractures in the fiberglass body in a year of use. I am concerned that coach is at danger of losing part of its body while on the road. The dealer has repaired two of these fractures but three more have rapidly developed. These repairs were completed under Tiffin structural warranty. No warning prior to cracks developing.

Purchased Dec 2021. Immediate Hydraulic leak, repaired at dealer. Jan 2022- hydraulic slides creeping out 6-8 inches. March 2022- serviced at Tiffin in Red Bay. No solution for creepy slide. July 2022- received recall for creepy slide. Nov. 2022- Feb 2023. Picked up RV on Feb 9 at service center, completed recall for creepy slide. Before leaving service center, hydraulic pump went out and had to be replaced. In April 2023, I notified service center creepy slide issue continued. From that point, made several phone calls and sent numerous emails to Lippert (slide manufacturer) and Tiffin and Connecticut Motor cars and coaches, the service center I use to search for solution. After months, Sept 26, 2023- Lippert Tech came to my house to work on problem. Following that visit on Oct 10- sent picture to Lippert, creepy slide continues. Nov 30, 2023, which is tomorrow is next visit for Lippert Tech. Cautiously optimistic since the solution is replace same cylinders from recall that this will finally fix the problem. I was told by an Tiffin rep on the phone that Lippert’s solution is to replace the cylinders that were replaced during the recall and the Tiffin rep indicated they are still seeing the same creepy slide issues after the second cylinder are replaced. Everyday I have to go out and retract the slides so there is less wear and tear on rubber seals and to protect the slide from weather, especially freezing rain or snow. And driving down road, have to worry that slides are not going to start to extend. I have had to pull over at a rest stop to retract the slides more than once. There is a webpage dedicated to creepy slide issues that other Tiffin RV owners have written about the same same problem. Tiffin needs to recall and switch, at their cost, from Lippert slides to a more functional, safe slide manufacturer so that RVer’s feel safe and do not cause harm or injury to themselves or others. Vehicle was part of a recall for a hydraulic slide issue where the slide that would move out of the RV body during driving 3 to 6 inches. New cylinders fixed the issue for about 10 months. Slide is moving out again during driving which could cause an accident. All owners who had the recall performed have had the new part fail within 6-12 months creating a new safety hazard which could cause death or serious injury from a collision. The recall needs to be reopened for a permanent fix. The rv company, tiffin, and lippert who designed the system did not fix the issue!

Seat belt retaining nut fell drivers seatbelt off while driving. This is top point on wall that hold too Section of seat belt. Found passenger side finger tight too.

2022 TIFFIN ALLEGRO OPEN ROAD 34 PA- Consumer submitted copy of letter sent to Ford Corporation about experience with NHTSA recall- 22V-731-Ford F-53 chassis rear stabilizer bar attachment. Consumer states: "Even though parts needed to complete the recall repair would not be available until the first quarter of 2023 we started the search for a suitable repair facility in our area. We contacted the Ford Motor Company Motorhome Customer Assistance Center at the phone number provided in the recall letter. We had to make repeated calls because each representative we spoke to was limited in the number of shops they could recommend at one time. Our residential zip code is 88030 in rural New Mexico." (6 different calls listed in letter and the results.) "Eventually we called the FMCMCAC and was given the number to the Ford Recall/Warranty Center where we spoke with Ford Recall Reimbursement Representative Elissa Peter. She assigned us Case File # CAS 42'123809 and suggested we try Earnhardt Ford in Chandler, AZ. Chandler is 250 miles west of Deming which would be a 500 mile roundtrip. They do not provide appointments and work only on a 1st come 1st served basis with a 6-8 week wait after you leave your motorhome with them. We are fulltime RVer's and would need a place to stay for 2 months in a strange town while waiting for service. That was when we decided to find our own shop. We located the Midway Ford Truck Center in Kansas City, MO. Not only did they allow us to make an appointment, but a RV Park was less than a mile away. We made an appointment for Tuesday, May 9th at 8 am. At that time, we were informed that this appointment was for an inspection of the Rear Stabilizer only, and if it was determined the work needed to be done, parts would be ordered and installed at a later date. This was a surprise since the if original letter stated when parts became available we could make an appointment with our dealer where the faulty parts would be replaced. We arrived in Kansas City early afternoon Monday, May 8th hoping the inspection could be completed that day and parts ordered. Midway Ford was not able to accommodate that request, so we kept our Tuesday appointment. Thinking the inspection was only to verify our VIN and that our motorhome needed the repair we were also surprised to hear that several bolts on the Rear Stabilizer Bracket were loose and 1 bolt was actually missing. Midway Ford ordered the parts and repairs were completed the next day. Our service contact at Midway Ford was Customer Relations Manager Rick Pogulis. We filed Claim# CAS 42697055/CAS 42123809 to be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses incurred by us to get this recall repair completed in a timely fashion. Our Ford Customer Service Rep Shawn escalated our claim to Supervisor "KJ''. She reviewed the recall notice rules/guidelines and informed us that Ford would not be reimbursing us for "consequential" expenses for this particular recall. We were very disappointed with that response after 6 months of our time trying to find a Ford Truck Service Center who would do the job and our expenses getting there. "KJ'' recommended writing to the Ford Product Claims Department. We did everything necessary to complete this Ford/NHTSA Safety Recall in a responsible and timely fashion. We do not believe we are responsible for any out of pocket expenses due to Ford's less than normal quality workmanship. The 3 days we spent at World's of Fun Village RV Park came to $169.62. Gasoline for the trip came to $556.50. See enclosed copies of receipts. We would appreciate out of pocket expense reimbursement in the amount of $726.12. Thank you for your prompt consideration of this matter."
