Question 1

How many model years of the Freightliner Custom Chass XCP have had recalls?

Accepted Answer

try.vin indexes 2 model years of the Freightliner Custom Chass XCP in the NHTSA recall database. Choose a year above to see every recall campaign issued for that specific model year, including the defect description, safety consequence, and the remedy Freightliner Custom Chass will perform.

Question 2

Is the Freightliner Custom Chass XCP a reliable vehicle?

Accepted Answer

A recall is not the same as a reliability problem — many popular vehicles on the road have multiple recalls because they sell in large volumes and defects eventually surface at scale. NHTSA recall counts should be read alongside owner complaints, crash-test ratings, and defect investigations, all of which are linked from each model year page.

Question 3

Are Freightliner Custom Chass XCP recall repairs free?

Accepted Answer

Usually. Federal law requires Freightliner Custom Chass to remedy recalls on the XCP free of charge at an authorized Freightliner Custom Chass dealer, whoever owns it now. The exceptions are vehicles first sold more than 15 years before the recall was issued and tires bought more than 5 years before it.

Question 4

Where can I check if my specific Freightliner Custom Chass XCP has an open recall?
